At this year’s LIGNA, the leading the wood machining industry exhibition, Leitz once again demonstrated its dedication to innovation and focus on productivity solutions for customers.

With its new booth concept and exhibition statement “Solutions in New Dimensions”, Leitz presented its total range of expertise and technical know-how. The world market leader in tooling solutions has tackled issues currently faced by the wood machining industry. This includes meeting the need for faster and more efficient production processes, increased flexibility and cost effectiveness, whilst continuing to improve the already excellent machining quality delivered by Leitz tooling systems.

UK managing director of Leitz Tooling, Simon Liddell said, “Our new concept and tooling exhibitions worked exceptionally well at LIGNA. Considering the show runs for a week, there was not a quiet moment and the interest and enthusiasm for new, innovative, efficient and cost effective tooling solutions from all our visitors was excellent. From the UK, we welcomed many existing customers and met with more new companies looking for the best solution for their specific production; a challenge we are always happy to deliver on.”

Leitz expertise was demonstrated by innovative tool solutions. The new cutterhead system  ProfilCut Q Diamond with indexable inserts sets new standards as a pioneer in machining wood. The unique combination of its ultra-light aluminium tool body and resharpenable, diamond edges with constant diameter ensures maximum productivity combined with significantly higher efficiency. The profile tooling system is used in numerous sectors of both wood and plastic processing.

With the WhisperCut circular saw blade, Leitz has designed user-friendly and future-oriented saw technology. Due to the intelligent arrangement of various edges, perfect staggered cuts and reduced cutting forces are achieved. When used on circular saw benches and cross cut saws, even at idle speed, the noise level is dramatically reduced.

The proven HeliCut program for timber construction was expanded for LIGNA and has transferred its benefits to numerous other applications.

LIGNA in Hannover is the international leading fair for machines, systems and tools for the machining and processing of wood. The complete value-added chain of the wood industry is represented – from timber harvest, through to industrial production. For 2017, LIGNA reorganized its floor space concept to reflect the convergence of the processing technology in the woodworking sector. About 1,500 companies exhibited and a total of 93,000 people visited the show, of which approximately 45 percent came from outside Germany.
