This is what you can expect:

During your training you will work within all the important commercial departments in our company. In addition to purchasing and shipping, you will work across sales, marketing, human resources, finance and accounting, payroll accounting, IT and work preparation. You will learn important tasks such as preparing quotations, processing orders and determining costs.

Requirements:

  • Good secondary school leaving certificate
  • Good language skills in German and English

This is what you can expect:

During your first year of training you will be employed in the training workshop and learn basic metalworking skills. During this period you learn about our production and tools. In the second and third years you will learn how to work with leading 2D and 3D CAD systems, select materials and manufacturing techniques and carry out functional tests with the aid of simulations. We attach great importance in supporting you for your exam preparation and will teach you what is important so that the tools that arrive at the customer are always of the highest quality.

This is what you can expect:

As a metalworking mechanic you will always have a varied job. During your training you will not only complete the basic theoretical and practical training in our training workshop, but you will also learn about the production of our high-quality products from steel products to finished tools during the production runs. You will learn how to work with the latest CNC milling and lathing centers as well as the most modern production technologies. From this, you will be able to produce high-quality workpieces and tools.

  • Machining technologies, e.g. lathing, milling, grinding, eroding etc.

This is what you can expect:

Basic metalworking techniques such as grinding, milling, turning, drilling and welding, as well as other jointing techniques are the main components of your training. In addition, you will acquire knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and controls in order to make them functional again in case of malfunctions. You will also be involved as an all-rounder in the installation and automation of systems as well as in repair and maintenance.

  • Manufacturing of components with conventional and CNC-controlled machines

This is what you can expect:

You will learn how to mill, drill, grind and weld to create a finished product. Electronics, programming and computer science will also form part of your training. You will learn how to use state-of-the-art production technologies and will be responsible for their assembly, commissioning, maintenance and servicing. As a Mechatronic technician, you ensure a smooth process in the production hall and are therefore alwayswill be the first choice for repairs and prototype construction. The analysis and programming of PLC-controlled systems will be part of your daily tasks.

  • Manual and mechanical machining
  • Measuring and testing of electrical values

  • Commissioning and operation of mechatronic systems

What you can expect:

You will learn to work with our team of IT experts to ensure that the IT infrastructure at Leitz functions smoothly and is developed further. You will look after our operating systems, the software we use and our hardware. You will optimize existing systems and install new ones. You create user IDs, manage them and assign user rights. You work with data centres, networks, client/server systems, but also with fixed or wireless networks. The configuration and administration of IT solutions and systems round off your area of responsibility.  In 1st level support, you will provide our employees with advice and assistance in the area of hardware and software.

  • Evaluating standard IT systems and customised solutions
  • Implementing, integrating and reviewing IT security and data protection measures

Dual studies with Leitz

Our offers and open study places

During your studies you will stay at the DHBW for three months to acquire theoretical knowledge and at our company HQ for three months to complete the practical work phases. Depending on the study programme, you will work in a variety of different departments. This will give you an insight into your daily work and the opportunity to gain valuable experience. By being involved in various projects, you can put your theoretical knowledge directly into practice.
