The Leitz Group is the world’s leading manufacturer of tools for the professional processing of solid wood and wood derived materials as well as plastics, non-ferrous metals and composite materials. Leitz group is also a technology leader within the field and enjoys a long 140 year history in tooling.
Our business is split into two areas: New tools and serviced tools. We design, develop, coat and manufacture tools for specific applications and materials, we can also modify these tools for bespoke customer needs. On the servicing side, we sharpen and service used tooling into like new condition.
In the UK we are based in Harlow, Essex. However, we operate 8 service centers across the country. With the UK’s largest team of technical and service engineers, Leitz UK can provide new tooling and servicing to the whole nation.
The role:
We are looking for a technical engineer to represent Leitz Tooling in the South East for the sale of tools for the woodworking, plastic, metal and advanced materials markets.
In this role you will develop a strong knowledge of the Leitz tool range, the markets we operate within and an understanding of the changing customer needs within the market. You will become a valued source of information and work with colleagues across the country and globe to build your knowledge, skills and technical expertise.
We are looking for someone who is competent with managing people and takes a holistic approach to sales. The role has the potential to grow with your knowledge and experience and there is a pathway for progression within the company. We also offer a mixture of in house and external training programs to support your hard and soft skill development.
The ideal candidate is able to use a statistical approach to sales, reviewing sales figures, budgets and setting targets. The candidate will be responsible for sales initiatives and developing UK manufactured product lines for our local market.
- Develop and implement sales strategies that align with the company's objectives.
- Potential to: Lead, monitor and motivate a team of sales representatives.
- Generate new leads and close deals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key and potential customers.
- Offer technical advice and solutions to customers.
- Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and make recommendations.
- Prepare sales reports and forecasts.
- Represent the company at industry and internal events.
- Report and work closely with the national sales manager.
This role will feature on the job training relating to our tools and markets.
- A "can do" attitude and being open to taking on new information and repsonsbilities.
- Good experience in the production process of timber or wood derived products.
- Experience working with tools in engineering.
- Experience working within machining, material manufacturing and production engineering in the wood, or wood derived industrial market.
