Job Description

The Accounts Receivable / Billing Specialist I is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds paid to the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services completed by the organization.

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Billing for specific regions and serves as backup for remainder of Leitz USA when needed.
  2. Serves as backup to the Accounts Payable position.
  3. Processes and applies customer payments including credit card payments.
  4. Researches and solves billing and payment discrepancies.
  5. Review, process, and apply customer credits.
  6. Manages adjustments to customer accounts as needed.
  7. Processes delivery notes through the billing procedures in UNIPS. 
  8. Prepares reports for accountants (as needed).
  9. Sends out inquires, sets credit limits, and processes new customer master files.
  10. Responsible for collections; contacts customers on past due balances, applies payments to past due balances, works with collection agencies, works with other employees in order to get customer accounts updated correctly.
  11. Development of policies, procedures, and system improvements by maintaining work instructions for customer applications.
  12. Assist with financial reporting for month end and year end.
  13. Responsible for neatness of work area and security of customer files and reports of delinquent accounts.
  14. Perform other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills, Education and Experience

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Two to three years’ previous experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office.
