Leitz WeCare Weeks 2025: Small Acts, Big Impact
At Leitz, we believe caring is just as important as cutting. That’s why each year, our global teams step outside the workshop to participate in Leitz WeCare Weeks—a dedicated time to give back to our communities, support causes close to home, and contribute to the global WeCare initiative.
In 2025, our teams across Australia and New Zealand participated in meaningful, hands-on activities that made a real difference, showing that even small acts of care can grow into something much bigger.
VIC Team – Packing for Children in Crisis
Our Victorian team volunteered at Backpacks 4 VIC Kids, helping to pack emergency essentials for children entering out-of-home care. Their efforts saw:
50 My Essentials packs filled with personal care items
60 Santa packs for children spending Christmas away from home
16 School Essentials packs to help kids start their learning journey with confidence
288 nappies packed and ready to support young families in need
A huge effort from the team that will directly support vulnerable kids across the state.
SA Team – Giving Time and Donations
The South Australian team also supported Backpacks 4 SA Kids, volunteering to pack emergency essentials and raising $620 to help purchase additional supplies for children in care. Their contribution ensures more young people have access to comfort and dignity during difficult times.
NSW Team – A Cleaner, Greener Community
Our New South Wales team rolled up their sleeves for a local clean-up of the nearby parklands, collecting 20kg of rubbish—plus one stray shopping trolley! Their efforts helped restore a valued community space, making it safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
WA Team – Mobility That Changes Lives
In Western Australia, the Leitz team volunteered with Bicycles For Humanity Perth. They spent the day cleaning and repairing donated bikes, which will be shipped to communities in Africa. These bikes play a vital role in improving access to education, healthcare, and essential services—a simple tool that transforms lives.
QLD Team – Gardening for Good
In Queensland, our team brought new life to the workshop surroundings by planting Australian native plants in two previously empty garden beds. With fresh mulch and biodiversity in mind, they created a welcoming habitat for bees, birds, and beneficial insects—proving that even a small green space can make a big impact.
NZ Team – Paws for a Cause
Our New Zealand team volunteered at Saving Hope, a local animal shelter. They helped with cleaning, feeding, and caring for animals, and raised a generous $1,000 donation to support the shelter’s food costs. There were plenty of smiles—and puppy snuggles—to go around.
One Team. Global Impact.
Leitz WeCare Weeks are about more than just volunteering—they’re a reminder that when we come together, we can create powerful ripples of positive change. Whether it’s helping a child in need, cleaning up our environment, or supporting mobility in remote communities, every effort adds up.
Together with our global Leitz family, these local actions feed into a bigger picture—a worldwide movement of care, compassion, and community.
Here’s to continuing the tradition in 2026 and beyond.
