When Leitz set out to create an Australian-made router range, the vision was simple: design tools for Australians, by Australians. But behind that vision lies a deeper story of engineering excellence, local innovation and commitment to sustainable manufacturing.
Engineered for Australian Conditions
Australia’s manufacturing landscape is unique, with diverse materials, varying climates and fast-paced production environments. This landscape, partnered with the soaring popularity of nesting CNC machines for furniture production, demands tools that can perform reliably day in and day out. Leitz Australian-made solid carbide compression routers were born from that need.
“Designing locally allows us to respond directly to the requirements of Australian manufacturers,” says Managing Director Sam Czyczelis. “We’re able to adapt faster, test tools in real-world conditions and deliver solutions that stand up to the demands of our market.”
Every router is engineered with precision geometry to deliver superior finish quality, longer tool life and high feed rates for a variety of materials, including MDF, particle board and laminates.
Made right here in Australia
Every Leitz compression router is crafted from premium-grade carbide, carefully selected for its hardness so it's not too brittle or too soft. Each tool is produced on ANCA grinding machines, a proudly Australian company, recognised globally as the gold standard in CNC grinding machine technology.
“ANCA’s technology represents the best of Australian engineering,” says Sam. “Pairing the machines with Leitz design, as an Aussie product for the Aussie market made on Aussie machines, means we’re giving Australian manufacturers a truly Australian product.”
Sustainability in Every Step
Leitz Australian-made compression routers are fully resharpenable, extending tool life and reducing waste. Through our nationwide tool servicing and recycling program, used carbide tools can be responsibly recycled, with proceeds donated to Backpacks 4 VIC Kids, a local charity supporting children entering emergency care.
It’s a cycle of quality, care and community, one that aligns with Leitz belief that sustainability isn’t just about the final product, but every component that contributes to creating it.
“As more companies look to improve their environmental impact, sustainability needs to flow through every part of production,” Czyczelis explains. “This includes the tooling that makes the products.”
“Choosing Australian-made tooling ensures a smaller environmental footprint.”
From raw carbide to finished router, every step of the process reflects our dedication to quality, innovation and responsibility. The result is not only a tool that performs, but also represents the best in Australian manufacturing.
Proudly engineered, produced and serviced in Australia, the Leitz compression router is a story of local craftsmanship, global precision and sustainable progress.
