Ceremonial key handover at the global market leader on Leitzstraße 1

With the ceremonial opening of the new building complex at Leitzstraße 1, the Brucklacher Group takes another important step in its strategic growth trajectory. The modern building houses the new headquarters of the three sister companies of the Brucklacher Group – Leitz, Boehlerit, and Bilz – as well as central functions of the global market leader Leitz under one roof. It stands as a symbol of the close connection between tradition and innovation and marks another milestone in the company’s 150-year history. The total investment at the Oberkochen site amounts to a double-digit million amount.

As part of the sustainable growth strategy 2026, the new construction and complete renovation on Leitzstraße 1 represent a clear commitment to the Oberkochen site and the long-term orientation of the corporate group. On an area of around 4,400 square meters, a building complex has been created that impresses not only with modern architecture but especially with highly functional structures and forward-looking workplaces, equipped with the technology of tomorrow.

The new address Leitzstraße 1 is also the new center of the Brucklacher Group. The globally active companies Leitz, Boehlerit, and Bilz will work even more closely together here in the future. The close integration of the three sister companies on site creates space for synergies, short paths, and joint development – particularly in the field of research and development. This further strengthens the role of Oberkochen as the headquarters of the Leitz Group. With the new global logistics, internationally operating IT, and the globally active media center, Leitzstraße 1 becomes the center for tool technologies, data, and digital solutions. The principle applies: from Oberkochen to the entire world.

Sustainability begins in the region

Great importance was also placed on regionality and sustainability in the implementation of the challenging construction project. Planning and construction were carried out in close cooperation with regional companies. In doing so, the Brucklacher Group underscores its commitment to its roots despite its strong global presence and contributes to the economic strengthening of the region – a region with a promising future.

True to the claim “We shape the future,” the newly designed areas represent consistent progress toward a sustainable future: with state-of-the-art infrastructure, optimized processes, open workspaces, and innovative collaboration concepts. They express the identity of Leitz and its sister companies as family-owned enterprises that think and act with foresight across generations and consistently invest in quality, efficiency, and continuous development.

“With this building, we are building a bridge from the past through the present into the future. It is our commitment to Oberkochen, to the region, and to our responsibility as a family business,” emphasized Dr. Cornelia Brucklacher, shareholder and representative of the fifth generation of the entrepreneurial family.

Ceremonial key handover as part of the opening

In the presence of numerous guests from politics, business, and science, the symbolic key handover from Dr. Brucklacher to the management teams of the three sister companies also took place – a moment of great significance marking the official start of a new chapter. With the ceremonial celebration at Leitzstraße 1, the Brucklacher Group once again emphasized its sustainable global growth strategy and its long-standing regional ties across generations.
